Democracy Development and Law (DDL) was established in the year of 2049 B.S. (1993) by a group of lawyers, legal academics, and social activists for the cause of democracy and development in Nepal.

It is a registered NGO that believes in sociological institutional and functional liberal patterns and strives for achieving the objective by promoting and strengthening constitutionalism, rule of law, good governance, and democracy; a strong, effective, fair, speedy, and competent judiciary; research on various legal issues and areas such as rule of law, trade, and economy by developing a model for improving law and legal awareness in the country; Organize training, discussion, seminar and other activities with a view to generating competitive managerial skill and service sector.
